Freya the Fox

One of five larger than life sized, polygonal steel animals for the entrance to the Hilde Performance Center in Plymouth, MN. This commission is the result of a nationwide competition that I responded to, became a finalist, and was selected to design, fabricate, deliver and install these five animals, after an extensive community engagement initiative that began with online voting, a paper craft workshop at the Plymouth Community Center, and booths at the Farmers Market and the Music at Plymouth July 4th Celebration.

We encouraged the community to vote on their top five of twelve animals native to the area. Once compete, we counted the online and in person votes, (3,500+), announced the winning five, (Freya the Fox, Sindri the Squirrel, Koda the Wolf, Percy the Buck, and Edie the Owl), and began the fabrication process over the fall 2025-winter 2026, for a late April installation date.
