Mining Ant

One from my series of robotic insects including Centipede, Pill Bug, Dragonfly, Lumenfly & Pollinator coming in 2025-2026, the Mining Ant is made from an up-cycled, twin motorcycle gas tank, propane tank, and Farmall tractor gas tank, with rebar legs and oil can antenna. I plan to paint them in a variety of colors for the different species of ants, and add some buttons, bolts and switches for detail, to suggest it’s robotic, automated nature. Each Mining Ant comes with a informational plaque stand describing it’s role in future space exploration, part of a sci-fi narrative I’m exploring.
